in november 2006 we decided to move from Laura´s cozy apartment to the other side of the same street; we wanted a proper place where we could work, rather than a shop. we found this incredible space and couldn´t resist ourselves... it´s in a very old building, and people say that it used to be a club loved by Goya... you know what kind of club... finally, we had space enough for not only work but play gigs, hang with our friends and even skate (that lasted a few months, thou...). almost all of the furniture we have here has been found in the streets of our town; some were actually “rescued”. every once a while we like to urn everything upside down and we change the whole look of the shop. there´s also a guy who brings plants and flowers from time to time. in the walls, there are some collages made by us and our frineds and a few pieces of arts from our beloved cousins nano4814, nuria mora, el tono, luciano, gonzalo givaja, etc.
music is in the air all the time; we have lots of records and sometimes people sit a take a look. hum... don´t look for top charts here...
we only have peSeta products but we also sell wonderful AA records´ releases and matryoskas from the japanese brand power shovel (they can only be found in Spain in our shop).
We love receiving visitors and customers, but sometimos we are doing stuff in the atelier and the door is closed; you can ring the bell, thou. You can also call us first to make sure we´ll be here to help you with anything. Dogs and other pets are more than welcome and if you come riding a bike, we have a special bike parking lot in the shop. oh, we kindly ask parents who visit us to let their children play, twist and shout, take some stickers and sweets or ask anything. they rule here...
noviciado neighbourhood is a beautiful and quiet place downtown Madrid; althought being between to plaza españa and malasaña, it keeps a small town flavour. we have cute clothing shops like polar (conde duque street), the two best record shops in town (radio city , guardia de corps square, and cddrome, pozas street), amazing bars (Segovian el chorrillo in acuerdo street, free tapas!, and Asturian casa candi right in front of our shop). there´s an indie art gallery (rojo máquina, in san vicente ferrer street) and a cute sexshop (sexapilas in la palma street).
we also have upstairs a bycicle atelier (aa ciclos) and the studio of some of our all-time favourte artists (Luciano Suárez, Nano 4814, el Tono, Spok and 3ttman). finally, some more historic data: the first Mahou beer brewery stood on amaniel street from 1890 to 1962... you can still smell the barley if you´re kinda romantic...
the closest subway station are Noviciado (line 2) or Plaza de España (lines 3 and 10).
we´re open monday to friday 10 to 8:30pm and saturdays 10 to 3pm.
sometimes we´re inside in the atelier doing some stuff, but if you ring the bell and we´ll be glad to receive you...
if you want to tell us anything, please, feel free to phone us,
send a postcard, an email or a suitcase full of money...
